Burly Skate Shop is an apparel, shoe, and skateboarding shop for young people in Salem/Suburb. We offer apparel, shoes and accessories in a high-end, industrial-chic environment. Our store will exemplify the latest in cutting edge products and trends. We aim to be the leading retail store serving this market and will do everything we can to make it so.

Our aim is to grab 80% marketshare and establish a central hub of activity for local skateboarders and others who are interested in fashion and the latest trends. Ollie and Nollie will manage Burly. Nollie, the merchandising director, was the founder and executive director of operations for a foster-care advocacy and family advocacy group for the last 18 years. Nollie has two Masters Degrees. She also taught for nine years at a local college. Ollie Casperflip, personnel and marketing manager, has been the Executive Director of Administrations for the same foundation for the past 11 years. Ollie Casperflip has a Masters in Administration and has been a skateboarder since he was 14. Both of the owners have vast experience working with people aged 12-25. Their son, who was a skateboarder himself, was raised by the Casperflips. They also worked in the foster-care agency and were in constant contact with parents and children.

Based on solid market research, our conservative sales forecasts will result in a net profit of over $6,000 the first year and almost $20,000 the third year. To support this plan and to set it into motion, the owners contribute $5600 in cash and another $1200 in shortterm assets. To meet our startup needs, we are looking for $50,000 more in short-term loans. These will be repaid over three year.
