Fine Dining Restaurant Business Plan

Opportunity

Problem

Long Branch, New Jersey (on the shore), is growing rapidly and needs a friendly place to eat. You can always be sure you’ll get the best of all things.

There is more opportunity than problem, unless you’re at Long Branch at dinnertime.

Solution

Gabri’s Lounge and Restaurant will have a comfortable dining area and an elegant lounge. Warm tones and comfy furnishings. The lounge features comfortable couches and antique love-seats, along with a softly lit bar. It’s the perfect place for a snack, drink, or small business meeting. For extra comfort and to please a large group of people we will make up special hors d’ oeuvre platters for customers.

Market

Long Branch’s future is bright. A $150 million resort project is being reconstructed by developers. New ferry service will be provided to Manhattan, New York City. There will also be beach cabanas on the pier, a boardwalk and a bike track that covers 25 acres. There will be 100,000 square feet. ft. of commercial space, and over 700 residential units with condo and townhouses ranging from $200,000-$500,000; rentals from $1000-$2,500 a month, and a two-tier garage. These elements together will create a city with a sustainable economy year round.

Competition

Red Bank, which is located next to Long Branch has the largest selection of restaurants. Currently, many people who live in Long Branch drive seven miles to Red Bank to dine out. With the redevelopment in Long Branch and with Gabri’s Lounge & Restaurant, we will convince these people to stay in Long Branch and eat at our restaurant.

Expectations

Forecast

The Projected Profit and Loss statement’s most important assumption is the gross margin. It should be higher than the industry averages. The industry average is also higher than ours. We plan to spend less on payroll.

We have seen moderate growth in the first 3 years. This is because restaurants are dependent on word-of mouth. We’ll be capable of meeting capacity requirements as shown here.

Financial Highlights by Year

Financing Required

$465,000 of funding is needed to finance $300K startup expense (in detail in company section) plus $85K of startup cash reserve and $80K non-cash assets at launch. We plan to put in $225K owner investment and land a $240K long-term SBA loan.
